About Us

Independent Financial Marketing Inc. (IFM) is an employee owned third party marketing firm specializing in working with emerging managers. We help smaller investment management firms create a market presence and raise investment funds for their strategy through selected channels with proactive marketing campaigns and strategic guidance.

We actively work with public plans, corporate plans, foundations & endowments, hospital and churches, non-profits, multi-employer Taft-Hartley plans, wealth managers, family offices and wrap providers.

Why emerging managers?

Much investment research and many white papers have proven time and again that emerging managers, while managing less than 1% of the total institutional assets in the United States, represent 39% of the best performing managers across all asset classes.   Why third party marketing?

Many smaller firms have the infrastructure to manage the portfolio, maintain records, handle administrative functions and SEC compliance. What they lack is the ability to market themselves effectively and gather-assets while maintaining the investment performance. We provide complete marketing and branding solutions for these smaller firms while introducing them to appropriate funding sources nationwide.

As we have seen with many American corporations, they have chosen to separate manufacturing from distribution to simplify operations and maximize profitability. Investment third party marketing follows this trend by allowing the manager to focus on manufacturing their product while we provide the broad scale distribution of the manager.

There are thousands of SEC registered investment advisors out there. We actively screen all available data and use our industry contacts to identify the few managers that meet our strict criteria.

• Unique process and/or philosophy
• Minimum 3 year track record *
• $100 million AUM *
• AIMR audited track record
• Top quartile performance
• Positive risk adjusted returns
